Contending

My Dear Child,

You will always be contending while you are in this world. It will often appear that you are battling with people instead of fighting for them. This is because you are striving in opposition to their deeply rooted strongholds of wrong beliefs, misconceptions, and traditions of the family passed from one generation to another. Not to mention the forces of evil that are upon them.

I want you to be reassured that while you are in this contention, I am using your voice to speak truth into their life, which will ultimately bring them freedom. You must not be afraid to assert yourself; however, difficult it may feel. You are not responsible for the outcome in their life; you are responsible for what I prompt you to speak to dispute against their wrong perspective.

Remember, you are not struggling against that person; they are not your opponent. Your real opponent is Satan and his army of dark forces and the strongholds they have set up in that person's life.

I also want to remind you of the contending you must do with your own flesh patterns. Your flesh, or in other words, your old way of thinking apart from Me, will continually be arguing against your new spirit that lives in union with Me. My question to you is this, what part of you will assert itself and prove to be the stronger part? I can tell you which is the stronger, that is obvious. But I also understand that the flesh often feels stronger, especially in the areas that have deep-rooted

strongholds that are yet to be realized. For these areas, I will send others to help you with your contending. It will not be just anyone whom I will send to help you contend against those strongholds, but people who were once held captive to the lies in those areas themselves. They will see where you cannot. They will be people who will be wise in My Word and fully prepared to contend for you. They will stick with you and be for you even while you may fight against them.

I write all this to you, My Child, so that you will not be afraid of or avoid contending. It is a necessary part of this life.

Your Daddy,

God

Colossians 1:28-30

He is the one we proclaim, admonishing, and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature. I want you to know how hard I am contending for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not met me personally. To this end, I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me. My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, so that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
